From Burnout to Balance: Gaming, Manga, and My Creative Reset on PS5

One great thing happened a few days ago and as a treat to myself, my husband and I went out and I happened to see this physical copy of Yakuza 0. Remembering the foolish decisions of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, I decided to grab it because after what 7 years--almost 8--of watching this hilariously entertaining guy named NicoB play it...well why not, right? After I saw that it would be delisted after the Director's Cut edition came out, that made me want it even more. I hope to grab all physical editions of the other Yakuza games, too.

It's something else that's different from my usual Japanese RPGS. I will upload playthrough footage as I see fit and whenever I have time. I'm still playing through Code Vein, just started Gravity Rush Remastered, and am in the middle of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I play these games on my Playstation 5. The link to my Youtube Channel is below if you are interested. I have some book trailers for my written work if you haven't seen them yet.

For me, life is coming a welcome standstill, which is allowing me to catch up on things. If you don't follow me on BlueSky, you may not know that I am making a one-shot manga. I have some sketches up there in a post. I'm working on honing my drawing skills again and I want to push myself to see if I can make something that I'll be proud of. I can't reveal any details of it just yet.

I do want to create book trailers with my own art one day. I've used A.I. to see what it could come up with to help me envision things and I think I know where I want to go with future trailers. I need to advertise my older works, as I am proud of them too.

Thanks to everyone for supporting my work and reading my blog. Thanks for watching my  Youtube Channel.

Catch Up Blog

I need to take a breather and reevaluate my goals as a writer/creator. I have published 27 short stories across both of my pen names Seraphine Vale and Rin Nocturne. That’s a lot. I know my works are shorter, but that’s to be expected since I write how I talk for the most part. This self-publishing journey is nothing new to me. I originally started writing online when I was 16 years old. There was a website called FictionPress.com. It still exists, but it’s nowhere near where it once was, for obvious reasons. I don’t remember how I came across it, though. On that site, people could submit—chapter by chapter—original fiction and you would get reviews from members of the FictionPress. It was a fun way to make friends, share interests and inspiration, and get feedback. I started self-publishing when word about Amanda Hocking’s success caught my eye. I loved the idea of seeing my work on Amazon and Barnes and Noble’s websites without a middleman or the wait and jumped on that imm...

TRAILER LAUNCH: Endsong of Dragons is Almost Here

Readers, stars, and stormchasers… Today, I release the official trailer for Endsong of Dragons , the fourth and final book in my Dragon’s Breath, Human Heart series. It’s a moment I’ve dreamed of—and dreaded—for years. Because this is more than an ending. It’s a reckoning. It’s a goodbye to a girl who became a legend. It’s a love letter to every reader who dared to believe a broken world could still be beautiful. 💔🔥❄ “She didn’t just survive the frost. She became the echo it left behind.” This is Mira Grayson’s final song —a story of power, reflection, and a woman who never asked to be chosen, but chose herself anyway. “I’m not yours,” she whispered to the storm. “I never was.” Thank you to everyone who’s walked this path with me, especially those who’ve carried Mira through every transformation, fracture, and firelight flicker. Your encouragement has meant everything. I wrote this series for the misfits, the quiet ones, the fierce-hearted. I wrote it for you . A...

✍🏟One Year Author Anniversary 📚

I missed this post by a day, but yeah. The 25th marked one year since I made the decision to return to independent publishing. I am not new to online publishing, far from it. I've been published on and off since 2004--I was a baby author in training then--from fanfiction to poetry,--I wrote and love it all. I actually discuss my first journey in  this post here. What does my writing routine actually like? When I write, I make sure to have three things on me at all times (if not all three, then at least one)  My phone (The Notes feature is handy) A notebook and pen/pencil My Ipad I write in the mornings and late into the night---whenever and wherever I can. There's no true routine to it.  How do you handle burnout, writer’s block, or “this is trash” days?     I'm learning to preserve ideas that don't work, characters who don't sing to my tune, and scenes that have no place. I collect them in a notebook for later projects. They will bear ...
