Chapter One: "Shadows Over
Summer"
Bunny stood at the base of the regal steps, her
sugar-pink hair catching the afternoon sunlight, casting a soft glow against
the crisp, white Victorian walls of Avalon Private Academy. Her emerald eyes
reflected the fading day as the school bell chimed for the last time, signaling
the end of the academic year. The clamor of students pouring out into the
courtyard created a jubilant buzz, as faculty followed close behind, their
footsteps heavy with the finality of the day.
Girls playfully tugged at their pleated skirts,
turning them into makeshift minis, while boys tossed their ties into the air in
a carefree tradition. It was a moment of reckless joy before the summer break, the
kind that marked a temporary freedom. But Bunny drowned in her own thoughts,
standing apart from the chaos.
The gates of the academy closed with a soft,
resonating clang as Bunny secured them behind her, the Black Iron Gate locking
with a finality that mirrored the thoughts clouding her mind. The world outside
felt so much vaster than the contained space of Avalon.
"Bunny?"
A voice cut through her reverie. She turned to find
Eleanor, the ice-blue-eyed girl with wavy, blonde hair tied into a carefree
ponytail, her perfectly manicured hand waving in front of Bunny’s face.
Bunny blinked, snapping out of her daze.
"Eh?"
Eleanor’s playful grin was a sharp contrast to the
serious thoughts that still lingered in Bunny's mind. "What’s up, Bun-bon?
Spacing out again?"
Bunny smiled sheepishly, shaking her head. "It's
nothing, Eleanor. Just... college exams." She sighed, her voice trailing
off. "I’m not sure I’m ready."
Eleanor laughed, leaning against Bunny’s shoulder.
"Oh joy, the thing we all love to dread. Don't worry, we’ll put it off
like we always do. You’ll be fine!"
Bunny’s shoulders relaxed, though she couldn’t fully
shake the feeling of looming uncertainty. Before she could say anything, the
others arrived.
"Hey, Bun-bon, where’s the party at? We still
going shopping to celebrate?" Sari’s voice, cheerful yet laced with
mischief, broke through the lingering tension. She was shorter than the others,
with sleek black hair and deep ocean blue eyes that always seemed to be
calculating.
The girls' eyes lit up, and Bunny sighed, trying to
keep her worries at bay. "I’ll treat you to Avalon Prime, if you’re all
still up for it."
The four girls made their way to Avalon Prime, the
largest and youngest of four major department stores in Avalon, Aria. When they
finished shopping, laden with bags of jewelry and trinkets, they gathered at a
hawker center, the neon lights casting a soft glow over their faces. They
laughed together, the carefree chatter filling the air like music.
But as the day wore on, Bunny’s thoughts drifted
again. Her chin rested in her hands, her gaze lost in the bustling street
outside the window. It wasn’t until Eleanor tapped her gently on the shoulder
that she snapped back to reality.
"Come on, don’t mope alone. You’ve got a whole
squad here."
The five girls exchanged smiles, but the
lightheartedness of the moment was soon shattered.
Sari suddenly doubled over, her body trembling
violently as her pupils dilated. Bunny and Eleanor rushed to her side, gripping
her hands in alarm as blood seeped through her shirt. Beneath Sari’s fingers, a
deep gash appeared, her stomach torn open like a wound from another world.
A violent swirl of black and gray clouds filled the
sky above them, a funnel of darkness that loomed over the city like an omen.
The wind howled, and purple lightning streaked across the sky, illuminating the
swirling vortex. The light flickered, casting an eerie glow on the girls'
faces.
Then, as suddenly as it had come, the storm ceased.
Sari’s body stopped convulsing, and the wound on her stomach vanished as though
it had never existed. She stood up shakily, but her expression was grim.
“What did you see?” Evelyn asked, her eyes sharp with
concern.
“People are dying...” Sari’s voice was quiet, a
whisper, but the gravity in her words was undeniable. "The body count is
only just beginning. We're not done here yet."
With a deep sigh, Sari readied herself, her body
shifting like a soldier preparing for battle. "Looks like vacation’s
over."
Bunny stepped back, feeling the weight of the moment settling
over her like a heavy cloak. She stretched her arms wide, breathing in the
thick air of impending danger.
The pendant—the azure stained-glass Star of
David—appeared in the air, suspended on a chain, and fell into her waiting
hand. As it touched her skin, a blinding pillar of white light erupted from
within her, enveloping her body in a wave of power. When the light receded,
Bunny stood transformed. Her hair was now white and cropped short, and her
eyes, once childlike, were now narrow and sharp, glowing with newfound
determination.
Her outfit had also changed, replaced by a sleek,
black leather jacket and matching pants, her boots clicking firmly against the
ground. The Star of David shimmered with an intense green glow on her right
hand.
"Soldier Evolution," she whispered to
herself, her voice a low, confident murmur. "Time to fight."
Sari stood next to Bunny, the air around them thick
with energy. "We need to get ready. This isn't over."
The three girls raised their hands, and columns of
white light descended from the darkened sky. When the light faded, their
transformations were complete. Eleanor now wore a navy-blue wedding kimono, her
hair pulled into an elegant bun, a black star glowing on her hand. She stepped
forward with grace. "Soldier Celestial is here."
Sari, ever the rebel, wore a loose dress over denim
shorts and black high heels. A blue star flickered on her right hand.
"Soldier Starlight is here."
Evelyn's transformation was stunning, her silver and
gold kimono shimmering with every movement. Her wooden sandals clicked against
the pavement as a red star appeared on her hand. "Soldier Fire Star is
here."
The dark funnel loomed overhead, its darkness
devouring the light. The girls steeled themselves for the confrontation ahead.
Chapter Two: The Mark of Nasanrath

Bunny's Room, Apartment 2-C
Bunny sat up in her canopy bed, surrounded by Sari,
Evelyn, Eleanor, and two young men perched on stools. In Sari’s arms, a white
lion cub with a sapphire gem embedded in its forehead gazed at her with wide,
intelligent eyes.
“Bunny—are you alright now?” the cub asked, leaving
Bunny bewildered.
“That wolf just spoke...” she murmured, rubbing her
temple. “Did I hit my head or something?”
“Do you remember me, Bunny?” the cub asked again. They
locked eyes, and a flicker of recognition stirred within her.
“Kamyu?”
Bunny then turned her gaze toward the two young men.
They waved at her in greeting.
“I’m Seth,” the brown-haired man introduced himself.
“Please don’t be alarmed, Lady Lilka. My partner James and I have chosen to
fight by your side.”
Sari leaned into James’s chest, while Evelyn clutched
Seth’s hands. Bunny took in the scene, a vague sense of familiarity tugging at
her heart.
They’re in love,
she thought. Somehow... I remember that feeling from somewhere... But I
don’t have time for love now.
Kamyu leapt onto Bunny’s lap.
“These two are part of the Knight Trio of the Solar
System,” she explained. “Seth is the Shining Knight, and James is the Dark
Knight. The third member, Shadow Knight, remains elusive. For years, they have
fought alongside us in our battle against the Enemy.”
Bunny nodded slowly, taking it all in.
“Did you sleep well last night?” Seth inquired.
“Not really,” Bunny admitted. “I had nightmares about
the Solar System... and that battle with Vinsfeld. And this mark on my neck—it
burned for hours and kept me awake.”
Kamyu stiffened. “What mark?”
Bunny flushed as everyone turned to inspect the
bruise-like mark on her neck.
Seth crossed his arms. “Just as we feared, James.
Shadow Knight’s prediction is coming to pass.”
Eleanor’s brow furrowed. “And that is?”
James exhaled, resting his chin in his palm. “Our
companion, Shadow Knight, foresaw the demonic birth of Nasanrath.”
Gasps filled the room.
“Vinsfeld,” Kamyu muttered, “infected Bunny with a
demonic fetus. It isn’t inherently good or evil—it’s like a newborn human
child. However, unlike humans, it will follow only the path set before it.”
“Could it become human?” Eleanor asked hesitantly.
“No,” Seth answered. “It was born of Vinsfeld—a
tainted soul—so its form will always be demonic. But its nature can still be
shaped.”
James turned to Bunny. “That’s where you come in.
Control your emotions. That’s all we can tell you.
Seth and James stood to leave. “Be patient with
yourself and others,” Seth advised.
At the doorway, James added, “No matter what, this
birth must not be prevented.”
A chill ran through Bunny’s spine as Kamyu escorted
them out.

Outside Bunny’s apartment, Seth, Sari, James, and
Evelyn stood in solemn silence.
“She said nothing about our confrontation with
Vinsfeld,” Sari observed.
Evelyn frowned. “Something about his revival is
bothering me... His power felt different this time.”
“You noticed too?” Sari asked.
“Our former abilities won’t be enough,” James
concluded. “We need everyone on this.”
Inside, Bunny’s alarm clock read 2:00 p.m. She
sat up, rubbing her eyes. Kamyu lay curled at her side, tail wrapped around her
small frame.
Kamyu has watched over me since I awakened
as a Soldier, Bunny mused. She’s always been by my
side... But I need to get out. It feels like I’ve been asleep for ages—even
though the battle was only yesterday.
A warm, wet sensation pooled between her legs.
She gagged as crimson liquid spread across her sheets.
This is a vision... I’ve never felt pain
like this before.
Shaken, she stumbled to her closet. Kamyu kept one eye
open, stretching lazily.
What’s she thinking, going out at a time
like this?

Avalon Port Park
Bunny sat alone on a park bench, watching the world
move on as if nothing had happened. She closed her eyes, another vision creeping
in—this time, the park was littered with corpses.
Bloodied, moving corpses.
“My lady? Are you alright?”
A young man had appeared beside her. His
black-and-white hair framed calm, inquisitive eyes. Dressed in a white T-shirt
and black leather pants, he looked almost unreal.
“I’m alright,” Bunny replied, face flushing.
I must’ve looked so strange just now...
“I’m Bunny Lilka,” she continued. “If I seemed odd,
it’s just... I’ve been struggling with my memories. Something important
happened last year, but I can’t remember what.”
The man’s expression shifted—imperceptibly—as if she
had said something she wasn’t supposed to.
Bunny blushed again, silently willing her brain to
stop making her mouth betray her.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Lady Bunny Lilka,” he
said, shaking her hand. “My name is Alexander Kinomoto.”
A crumbling white-and-green marble castle drifted in a
sea of darkness above Earth.
Vinsfeld lounged on his throne in the decaying
chamber, staring into a black crystal ball, its core pulsing with yellow
energy. He flexed his right hand, eyeing the black scar sealing an old wound.
He thought of Soldier Evolution’s grave, of her
unyielding expression.
“That woman acted as if nothing could touch her,” he
mused. “But I have planted Nasanrath within her. Now, she has no choice.”
His eyes flickered toward the shadows. “Yurina, I
summon thee.”
A woman materialized—short green hair, blood-red eyes,
her cheap kimono hanging loosely around her frame. She bowed deeply.
“I am here, Lord Vinsfeld.”
“Demonic energy flows thick in the city where the
Soldiers reside. The one who fought me is their weakness. Investigate at once.”
Yurina smirked. “Consider it done.”
As Bunny and Alexander strolled through a dense
forest, Yurina hovered above the city, her crimson eyes gleaming.
