Teaser Tuesday: Art Class, Heart Mess

 Hey there, story lovers! 💕

I’ve been sitting on some older stories that still have major feels to give, so I’m launching a new blog series called Teaser Tuesday! Every week, I’ll highlight one of my past works under my pen names Seraphine Vale and Rin Nocturne.

Just because something isn’t “new” doesn’t mean it isn’t still a vibe. Whether you're here for the soft crushes, emotional chaos, magical girls, or dramatic plot twists, these bite-sized previews are here to rekindle interest, find new readers, and give my characters a fresh spotlight.

Let’s start with one that’s pure teenage romantic disaster gold. 🎚💘

🎚💔 Teaser Tuesday: Art Class, Heart Mess by Seraphine Vale 💔🎚

OMG. Y’all. I’m kicking off Teaser Tuesday with a story that’s equal parts heartache, hallway gossip, and hopeless crushes—because let’s be honest, who hasn’t died a little inside after their first "he smiled at me" moment?

👀 Art Class, Heart Mess is a free short read under my pen name Seraphine Vale, and it's for anyone who's ever fallen in love, faceplanted into awkwardness, and lived to meme about it.

🖋️Official Blurb:
Erica Shay is used to flying under the radar—until one accidental blush sends her spiraling into a love triangle that has her whole art school talking. Between Colin Verity, the charismatic golden boy with a rebel streak, and Richard Liu, the brooding artist who sees right through her silence, Erica finds herself the unwilling center of every hallway whisper, meme account, and online conspiracy theory.

She just wanted to draw in peace. Instead, she's navigating midnight confessions, viral scandals, and an ex-best-friend with unfinished business (and killer eyeliner). As her anonymous art blog becomes the front line of a very public emotional war, Erica has to decide: Is love worth the chaos when everyone has an opinion—and receipts?

💫 Told in quickfire prose with heart, humor, and brutal honesty, this story is for every messy, anxious teen who's ever tried to choose between "safe," "swoon," and "screw it, I pick me."

💌 Perfect for fans of: Alice Oseman, Mary H.K. Choi, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

📖 Chapter One Sneak Peek: The Smile That Ruined Everything

The door opened like something out of a movie—slow, golden, dramatic. Erica didn’t look up right away. She was still thumbing through the worn corner of her sketchbook, trying to decide if it was pretentious or brave to draw the back of someone’s neck.
(Art school people liked weird anatomy sketches. Right?)
Then it happened.
The incident.
The boy.
The smile.
Colin Verity—undisputed heartthrob of Avalon Academy for the Gifted, star of the debate team, destroyer of hearts, wearer of loose ties and rolled-up sleeves like it was a rebellion—held the door open for her. For her. Quiet, artsy Erica whose voice sounded like a squeaky chair leg when nervous.
“Morning,” he said, in the kind of voice that makes iced coffee shiver.
Erica’s body betrayed her. Her mouth forgot how to form syllables. Her legs turned into those wobbly cartoon noodles. Her entire existence condensed into one massive BLUSH.
A nuclear, cherry-blossom, panic-coded explosion blooming across her cheeks like someone had taken a pink highlighter to her soul.
She nodded.
Not coolly. Not flirtatiously.
Just… nodded. Like an NPC.
He gave her a sideways glance, a smile like summer lightning, and disappeared down the hallway like he hadn't just dismantled her entire central nervous system.
She clutched her sketchbook to her chest and whispered, “What just happened?”
From behind her, Lia—goddess of gossip and wearer of glitter eyeliner in violation of uniform code—grinned.
“Girl. You just had your main character moment.”

Welcome to My World—Short Fiction, Big Feelings

Hey there, beautiful readers. I'm so glad you stumbled across this little corner of the internet, where stories smolder, hearts break (in the best way), and every sentence tries to punch you right in the feels. I'm an Aquarius and Earth Dragon—writer, dreamer, INFJ introvert in survival mode—and I publish under two pen names that reflect the duality of my storytelling soul: Rin Nocturne , where I get unapologetically bold, dramatic, and just a little bit magical. Think Sailor Moon vibes crash-landing into raw emotional landscapes, with a sprinkle of modern fantasy and mythology. Seraphine Vela , the name I use for stories that carry a different kind of weight—more literary, still emotional, but grounded in character and language-driven worlds. Let’s talk shop for a second. What I Write ✍️ I specialize in short fiction —because sometimes you don’t need 100,000 words to wreck someone emotionally (in a good way). Whether it’s a 10-page gut-punch or a novella that mak...

TRAILER LAUNCH: Endsong of Dragons is Almost Here

Readers, stars, and stormchasers… Today, I release the official trailer for Endsong of Dragons , the fourth and final book in my Dragon’s Breath, Human Heart series. It’s a moment I’ve dreamed of—and dreaded—for years. Because this is more than an ending. It’s a reckoning. It’s a goodbye to a girl who became a legend. It’s a love letter to every reader who dared to believe a broken world could still be beautiful. 💔🔥❄ “She didn’t just survive the frost. She became the echo it left behind.” This is Mira Grayson’s final song —a story of power, reflection, and a woman who never asked to be chosen, but chose herself anyway. “I’m not yours,” she whispered to the storm. “I never was.” Thank you to everyone who’s walked this path with me, especially those who’ve carried Mira through every transformation, fracture, and firelight flicker. Your encouragement has meant everything. I wrote this series for the misfits, the quiet ones, the fierce-hearted. I wrote it for you . A...

Catch Up Blog

I need to take a breather and reevaluate my goals as a writer/creator. I have published 27 short stories across both of my pen names Seraphine Vale and Rin Nocturne. That’s a lot. I know my works are shorter, but that’s to be expected since I write how I talk for the most part. This self-publishing journey is nothing new to me. I originally started writing online when I was 16 years old. There was a website called FictionPress.com. It still exists, but it’s nowhere near where it once was, for obvious reasons. I don’t remember how I came across it, though. On that site, people could submit—chapter by chapter—original fiction and you would get reviews from members of the FictionPress. It was a fun way to make friends, share interests and inspiration, and get feedback. I started self-publishing when word about Amanda Hocking’s success caught my eye. I loved the idea of seeing my work on Amazon and Barnes and Noble’s websites without a middleman or the wait and jumped on that imm...
